Chapter 3 — Monsters

"In case, maybe we should dissect her too..."

"Please wait! Maybe I am a monster, but she has nothing to do with this!"

«Monsters... Huh..»

"You're defending her, so she's still on your party! "

"It's the truth!"

"How can we trust you?"

"No!!" Eren yelled, following an awkward silence. Accused of betrayal of humanity, he was attached and bending on the ground. You stood there crossing your arm, beside Hanji, as bored as ever.

"I-I mean, you are wrong. But, you are only talking on your own too. And, even if you never saw a Titan, what are you so afraid of?" After a mere hesitation, he spoke again, "If you have the power, then why don't you fight? If you hold the power and are too afraid to fight, then lend me your strength! Cowards..."

«How interesting. Having the courage to insult his opponent, this boy sure is interesting. Now I see the point in this. »

"What?"

"What ever, shut up and all surrender me!!" He finally yelled.

«Hoho! That was a interesting comment!»

Everyone was shocked, the chamber followed an awkward silence.

"P-prepare your guns!"

"Y-yes!"

«Oh!... I wonder how he will get out of this...»

Bam!

In a sudden, Levi jumped in front of Eren and kicked him in the face.
"When did he..." You mumbled slightly surprised.

Eren looked back confused, but only received another kick, another, another and another.

«Haha!! What was that? Dancing?»

"[N-Name], are you smiling?... You look kind of scary..." Hanji asked in a low voice.

"E-eh? Ah... Don't mind me..." You responded.

"O-ok..." She finally turned away worried.

"What's with me?... And this inner voice... Am I too tired?" You thought confused.

The trial is finished, it's been decided that Eren will be under Levi's squad surveillance. If anything happens, he could be executed. He will also be brought to the incoming expedition. Currently, you were gathered in a room, taking a look on Eren. You leaned on the wall by the window and sat on the table. With your arms crossed you were watching the sunset. The sun was going down, a little by little, letting on the water some golden bright reflects on the surface. But this sight will last no longer and will soon be taken by the night, a little by little, devoured by the darkness.

"However, there's a limit! Look! He even lost a tooth..." Hanji picked the tooth in her handkerchief.

"Don't pick it up, it's disgusting." Levi exclaimed.

"But for me it's an important sample..."

"Eren, I guess you're glad you won't be dissected by freaks like her, huh." Levi asked.

"Hmpft!!!! PWAHAHAHA!!! Levi Heichou, is that suppose to be a joke?!?" You laughed hysterically.

He's obviously angry at your comment, you can say it by the looking on his face which only made you laugh more.

"What? So you're saying you can make a better joke than me?"

"So you acknowledge it was a joke, haha..." You chuckled.

"Answer my question." He said.

Knowing the two of you will start an endless argument, Hanji invited Eren to go to another place as Mike and Erwin leave the room.

"Why would I? I'm not your subordinate or anything." You replied.

"Tch. Then I order you as humanity strongest soldier."

"Pffuuu!! AHAHAHAHA!!! What the hell?!? Humanity strongest soldier order me to tell him a joke?!? How pathetic!! Are you too bored for not giving a shit?" You shrieked.

"At least I made you laugh."

"Eeh?..." You were surprised at first but you replied quickly, "I'm not laughing at your joke, I'm laughing at the fact of you making a boring joke."

"You know you've been kind of weird, these days..."

"That's why you're worried about me?" You smirked again, "I've always been this way anyway..." You walk towards the door and waved your hand as sign of helpless. Before opening the door, you turned with a grin and bowed in the way of a gentlemen "Thank you for worrying about me, Mr.Strongest-soldier-of-humanity." Looking a last time at his surprised eyes, you leaved the room. But as soon as you closed your door, your expression changed to a complete dark look. You hurried back to your room avoiding any eye contact on your way. You finally arrived at the end of the hallway of the dorm, the place was so obscure that not a lot of people lived there. Taking a like on these kind of ambiance, your room was there.

You sighed before opening the door, there were no one in the hallway. Each one of your footstep could be heard clearly within the sound of your door closing and the key locking the door.

Right after changing to a lighter blouse, you opened the window to let some air get in. Your curtains were thick and had the color of dark violet, with some black decoration. The room was principally composed by gothic style furniture, the color was mostly black, dark violet and crimson red, which made it a gorgeous impression. As soon fallen on your bed, an irresistible desire of sleep hit you. You slowly closed your eyes...

«This isn't like you, leaving in the middle of an argument... Were you agitated at his comment?»

You promptly sat up from your bed, it was the Voice. You felt a sudden and an unsupportable head ache. As you felt your head falling, you held it with your hand. What was that?

«How hilarious!! A simple comment!! How boring... Nonsense. Pathetic!!»

Your head ache intensified more and more and cause you fall again on the bed.

"Ugh!" Still holding your head, you winced. What the hell is this?!? You felt yourself falling into darkness...

A knock on your door woke you up, all the feelings were gone. The voice, the head ache and the darkness.

"[Name]! Would you mind coming join us at diner?" Hanji asked from outside in a joyful voice.

You get up forcefully and walked slowly towards the door.

"H-hey... Hanji..." You greeted restlessly as you opened the door. There were Mike and Erwin behind her.

"Dear lord! Are you okay? You look so pale! It's only been twenty minutes! Did shorty did something to you?" She exclaimed.

"Is it that bad?..." You smiled sheepishly, surprised at yourself too,"Don't worry, Ravioli didn't do anything, I'm just a bit tired... Go ahead, I'll maybe join you later... But you don't need to wait for me."

"Okay..." She looked at you worried.

"Don't force yourself too much." Erwin said.

"Yes sir!" You forced a smile and watched them leave.

As soon as they leave the place, you leaned against the wall and sighed.

"Dammit..."

~The Next Morning--Breakfast~

"Don't stare at her!" A girl whispered, "It's her!"

"Eeh? But isn't that [Name] Heichou--..." The boy beside asked bluntly, but the girl quickly shut his mouth by covering it.

"Did you know? It's say that her personality is a Ice Queen, she can kill you just by a piercing glare of her darkened eyes!!"

"B-but... Last time when I handed her the paperwork, she was quite nice..."

"Shut up!! She might look nice at first sight, but no one knows her true personality! You know the number of Titan she killed? Even it's out enemy, think about it! No fear, no hesitation, no mercy..."

"Hmm... Is that so..."

"And it seems that she didn't sleep well, she seems to be in a bad mood. And..." The girl lowed her voice, "it seems that she kills people too..."

"Eeh?!?" The boy yelled.

"Shut up!" She beat the boy on the head, "Anyway, don't get near her too much, she's not the person you want to approach. It's not for nothing that she's at the same ranking as Levi Heichou..."

"Eeh... I didn't know..." The boy looked away in fear.

You signed, you could actually hear every single conversation in the mess hall if you wanted.

«Haha!! Look at these cowards!! 'It seems that...', 'It seems that...', but it isn't wrong... Aren't you the monster?..."»

You dropped your glass as soon as the voice hit you... The whole room went silence. The glass dropped by your feat and the broken pieces scratched your leg. The crimson blood ran down the gash. You stopped every of your movement and you widened you eyes.

"[Name]!! Are you okay? Ouch! This is sharpe!" Hanji bent down and accidentally touched the pieces on the floor, "Are you okay? I'll take you to the infirmary."

"A-ah... Okay..." You replied reluctantly.

Yes... You just realized, that the monster was indeed you... No you've realized it long ago, you just didn't want to accept it...
